Southeast KG Championship
As everyone knows by now, the four KG Championships
will be used to determine who will represent DVG America at the 2010
DVG BSP. With this in mind, the SEKG Board is seeking bids from clubs
wanting to host the KG Championship. This unique situation in allowing
the top two KG winners to represent us in Germany should encourage more
people to enter the championship trial.
The date of the trial MUST BE either the last weekend in January
or the first weekend in February. This will ensure that the same judge
will preside over each of the Championships.
Clubs wishing to host the regionals must be able to provide
three things
1) A neutral field (as defined below)
2) Adequate tracking fields within easy traveling distance
3) A clean, reasonably priced hotel nearby
Any club that can fulfill these three requirements are encouraged
to put in a bid. Each bid will be judged on their ability to provide
the three elements listed above. Once a club has been awarded the position
of host, the KG Board will work closely with the club to ensure the
neutral field rule is followed. NO PRACTICE TRACKING will be allowed
on or near the trial fields unless publicly announced in the KGK or
Announcement List and open to all KG members. Anyone caught on the trial
field or tracking fields before the trial will be sanctioned by the
KG Board.
Listed below is addition information regarding the requirements
of a neutral field.
DEFINITION:
1) A neutral field is defined as a field on which no participants in
the DVG BSP qualification have trained on (except for pre-trial practice)
since the 2009 LV/DVG America National Championship.
2) If a neutral field is not available (because of sports events
or cost
consideration), the KG's may have the option of holding an open trial
separate from the VPG 3 level championship. Level 1, 2 and 3 dogs may
participate. The open trial may be held on Saturday and may be considered
a championship for the VPG 1 and 2 level dogs and may also include VPG
3 level dog/handler teams not wishing to compete to qualify for the
DVG BSP. A separate trial for the VPG 3 dogs only may be held on Sunday
for those handlers hoping to qualify for the DVG BSP. This trial will
be considered the VPG 3 KG Championship and the winner's score will
be compared with other KG championship winners for DVG BSP qualification.
The competitors in this VPG 3 trial may not have trained on the trial
field (except for pre-trial practice) since the 2009 LV/DVG America
National Championship.
